“How Can I Help You?”

We are excited to announce that the first AWR360º Center for Digital Evangelism (CDE) will begin in mid-January 2019 on the campus of the Southern-Asia Pacific Division (SSD) headquarters near Manila, Philippines.

This ambitious project will connect listeners from our broadcasts across all media platforms with digital missionaries who will develop relationships with them and minister to their needs, leading them to Bible studies and baptism.

Picture a digital call center full of committed young adults who are working every day to lead people to Jesus. Will they be answering traditional phone calls? Yes! But they will also be utilizing the Internet and social media to connect with our listeners through platforms such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, WeChat, and many others. Through these digital avenues, we can reach the world with the gospel faster than ever before in Earth’s history.

We will begin with a small group of young adults from India as our inaugural group of digital missionaries. The General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists has designated India to be the Total Member Involvement evangelism focus area for 2019, where 4,000 evangelistic meetings will be held in the summer of 2019. Using various avenues of digital technology, our CDE missionaries will be “connecting the dots” with listeners from across the Indian subcontinent —leading them from our AWR broadcasts and social media channels, to Bible studies, health seminars and evangelistic meetings, and then baptism and engagement with a local church.

Our missionaries will live and work in a temporary house on the campus of SSD during 2019. But that will not last for long, because on November 5, 2018, AWR and SSD broke ground on a Center of Influence building that will be built on the campus. The ground floor of this beautiful new facility will be dedicated entirely to the CDE. With the space in this new building, our goal is to have least 40 young adults serving as digital missionaries in the near future.

The thrilling part is that the CDE in the Philippines is only the beginning. Our goal is to develop other CDEs in different places around the world in the coming years, so that we can maximize our reach through digital media. To lead this project, we are happy to announce that Karen Glassford recently accepted a call to join our AWR team as our global CDE director. She comes to us from GC Secretariat, and we are very thankful to have her on board.

We are very excited about this project, because we believe this could be the last frontier of evangelism. It’s amazing to think that in a matter of seconds, tens of thousands of people can be reached through the Internet. We have only just begun to scratch the surface of what can be done through utilizing digital media for evangelism. God is going to do “exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20) to reach people all over the world with the three angels’ messages through the AWR360 Centers for Digital Evangelism. Please join us in praying that God will bless this project in a powerful way.
