There is a story that has been passed down in my family through the years that is very precious to us. My German great-grandparents migrated to America from the Volga River in Southern Russia and settled in a farming community in central Oklahoma.

Soon after, in 1889, they learned the Sabbath truth from an evangelistic series in their area, and embraced the Adventist message wholeheartedly. Nine years later, my great-grandfather became ill, and as he lay dying, he shared a dream with his family. He was in heaven and Jesus spoke to him and said, “Tell your family that they should get ready, because I’m coming soon.”

His wife, my great-grandmother Susanna, asked him, “How soon?” And he responded, “I don’t know; it seems like in 100 years or so.”

That was 1898, and today it’s “100 years or so.” My grandmother Mollie was a young girl then, and she never forgot that message. She passed it to my mother, who passed it down to me, and I’ve shared it with my children, and now with you.

We know Jesus is coming soon—the signs are everywhere! And there’s no place I’d rather be than right here at Adventist World Radio sharing this wonderful news with the world!
