Reyna was hungry and filled with hopelessness. She had come to the city looking for a better life and for a way to support her family, but things had gone terribly wrong.
From the moment she got off the bus, she knew she’d made a mistake. With no connections or support in the city, how was a simple village girl going to survive?
Seeing her distress, a kind-looking man promised her a job and lots of money, but alas, it was not to be. Her worst nightmare came true, and she ended up selling her freedom and her body.
There was no way out for her . . . until one day her captor gave her a radio. The moment she turned it on, everything changed. She heard beautiful music and a man began to speak about Jesus, and how we can call on Him in our darkest moments.
“Until that point, I had never heard the name of Jesus. I felt like a dirty, worthless human, but when I heard about Jesus, for the first time I felt a glimmer of hope.”
